On a lighter note, the world's gone to heck in a handbasket. Oh. Forgot my medication.
I hope Mike had better luck than I had in Austin. Being from California, gray-haired, and 47 in 2002 without family or a friend in the area had its disadvantages. I was slender when I arrived, then lost 40 lbs. in a hurry.
Someone there asked me if I was a Yankee or a rebel. I told him that I was post-Civil War, and that I forgot the Alamo.
